VAPAHCS maintains one of the top three research programs in the VA. An affiliation with the Stanford University School of Medicine provides a rich academic environment including medical training for physicians in virtually all specialties and subspecialties.

The Miami VAMC is located on 26 acres in the Miami Civic Center Medical Complex. There are two satellite clinics located in Key West and Oakland Park. Also, Miami has Community Based Clinics located in Pembroke Pines, Key Largo, Hollywood, Deerfield Beach, Coral Springs and Homestead. The facility operates a spinal cord injury center.

Georgia
Augusta VA Medical Center

Augusta is a two-division medical center providing tertiary care in medicine, surgery, neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation medicine, and spinal cord injury. The Downtown Division is authorized 155 beds (58 medicine, 37 surgery, and 60 spinal cord injury). The Uptown Division, located approximately three miles away, is authorized 123 beds (68 psychiatry, 15 blind rehabilitation and 40 rehabilitation medicine). The medical center serves as a network resource for the treatment of spinal cord injury, blind rehabilitation, post traumatic stress disorder, and psychiatry patients.

Specialized clinical programs in areas such as Blind Rehabilitation, Spinal Cord Injury, Cardiovascular Surgery, Level 2 Poly-Trauma Center and Residential Care are examples of services provided at Hines.

New Jersey

The Department of Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System (VANJHCS) is a consolidated facility comprised of two main campuses, one in East Orange, the corporate office located in Northeastern New Jersey within the greater New York metropolitan area, and one in Lyons, 22 miles to the west of the East Orange Campus. The East Orange Campus operates a spinal cord injury center.
