The DAV (Disabled American Veterans) is providing Unemployment Relief checks to service-connected disabled veterans who have lost employment as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These checks are a one-time $250 payment that will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

There is a limited amount of funds and the checks are limited to one veteran per household.

The DAV is a non-profit organization and relies upon charitable contributions to help veterans. So they are also soliciting donations to help cover the cost of these payments. (Donations are tax-deductible).

I have been blessed and I am still employed during this time. So while I do not have the capacity or funds to support people on an individual basis, I am able to support a veteran through the DAV. So yesterday I made a $250 contribution to the DAV to help cover the cost of supporting a veteran who needs it right now.

If you need help during this time, please visit the DAV website and apply for this grant (the application is only available online).

If you have been blessed and are able to help other veterans, then the DAV has the ability to make sure your donation will go where it is needed.
