United Spinal supports removing restrictions on telehealth benefits, extending telehealth benefits, and increasing access to mental health services for all its members. In the new proposed rule for the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA), the Department of Veterans Affairs does the following:

  1. Removes the exclusion of coverage for audio-only telehealth. Beneficiaries of CHAMPVA would now be covered for audio-only telehealth.
  2. Removes day limits on outpatient mental health visits. Mental health benefits for CHAMPVA beneficiaries will be consistent with TRICARE benefits through the Department of Defense.
